Two years ago, dual Olympian Lisa Weightman smashed the Medibank Melbourne Marathon race record by six minutes running a personal best time of 2:26.05.
But one stress-related back injury and one very bubbly child later, Weightman, now 36, will return to racing in this year’s half marathon.

Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Jess Trengove will run her first marathon in Australia when she takes on the Medibank Melbourne Marathon on October 18.
In 2015, we return to our favourite finish line inside the MCG. All runners in the Medibank Melbourne Marathon, the Half Marathon, The Coffee Club 10km and the Asics 5.7km run and 3km walk events will finish with a lap of the hallowed MCG turf.
