What a magical day for the 36th running of the Medibank Melbourne Marathon.

This year the race lost its national marathon status, but gained more credibility both in Australia and overseas with phenomenal achievements and by far the best race we have ever had in history.

Thank all those 34,000 who took part in the five events and especially well done to those 6850 who completed the marathon to make our event the largest marathon in Australian history.

Whether you crossed the finish line in record time or simply took part at your own pace, well done on getting involved in this year’s Medibank Melbourne Marathon.  The real marathon is just beginning. The marathon that is creating the healthiest Australia possible.  We’re calling this marathon, Generation Better. And it’s something we can all take part in, regardless of age, gender or fitness level. That’s because Generation Better is all about everyone taking small steps towards better health. It’s all about better health by any degree, by anyone, bit by bit.

To achieve the goal of becoming the healthiest Australia possible, we need your help, your inspiration, motivation and stories. Anything you can share, anything you think will help Australia get healthier, please share it by using #GenBetter.
