Wave starts are implemented in the 5km event to avoid congestion along the course.
They are split by roughly 5 minutes.
5km < 25 Minutes (FIRST WAVE)
For active runners who can complete 5km in under 25 minutes.
5km > 25 Minutes (SECOND WAVE)
For semi-active and casual runners and joggers who will try to run or jog the whole way but will more than likely finish in over 25 minutes.
